Security Guard at Indoor Swapmeet is Killed
Los Angeles: On June 24, 2002, at approximately 3:40
p.m., Victim Enrique Olivera, a male Hispanic, 42 years of age, was working
at an indoor swapmeet in uniform as an unarmed security guard . The victim
while patrolling the area ,was shot by unknown suspects, at the 600 block of
East 59th Street. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics
transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on
arrival. The suspects were described as five to six male Blacks. The
suspects, after shooting the victim, proceeded to one of the jewelry stores
inside the swap meet and smashed the glass windows of several display cases
containing jewelry. The suspects fled the location with the jewelry in an
unknown direction.
At this time no suspects have been identified and robbery was the
apparent motive of the shooting. Anyone with information, which could lead
to the identity or the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to contact
