"Child Abduction Regional Emergency Alert Issued"

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the assistance of the media to provide the public with the following information to assist Law Enforcement efforts in locating a 10 year-old girl.

On June 3, 2003, at 11:15 a.m., the missing child’s mother (Sabino) contacted the Northeast Area Police Station to report that her 10 year-old daughter, Karla Arellano, was missing from their residence, located in the 3300 block of Division Street.

Sabino indicated that she woke up this morning at about 7:30 a.m., and saw her daughter Karla in bed. At about 9:00 a.m., Sabino woke up and discovered her daughter missing. Sabino told police that Karla has never left their residence in the past and her mental condition is good. Karla is currently off-track from school.

The missing child is described as 10-year old, Karla Arellano, a female Hispanic, black hair, brown eyes, approximately 4 feet 6 inches and 78 pounds. She was last seen wearing a dark blue short, white "pokemon" shirt and blue shoes.

A Photo of Karla is available at the command post located across from 3316 Division Street.
