"58 Year-Old Man Dies During Early Morning Traffic Collision"
 

Los Angeles: On Thursday, June 05, 2003, at about 4:35 a.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Alameda Street and 8th Street. A 39 year-old resident of Los Angeles was driving his 1987 Toyota Tercel southbound on Alameda Street, when he struck Rudy Grijalva, a 58 year-old resident of Los Angeles. The investigation revealed that Grijalva was a pedestrian on the roadway outside of the marked crosswalk when he was struck by Mendoza.
The preliminary investigation revealed no criminal negligence on the part of the driver of the Toyota, pending further investigation by Central Traffic Detectives and a formal review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
