Jewelry Store Robber Caught on Video
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police
Department’s Wilshire Area Robbery Section is seeking the public’s help in
identifying a suspect responsible for robbing the Belgravia Collection
Jewelry Store, located in the Beverly Center at 8500 Beverly Boulevard, Los
Angeles.
On June 13, 2003, at about 7:40 p.m., a male Black entered the jewelry
store posing as a customer. He requested to try on several items of jewelry,
including a watch and a diamond and gold bracelet. Once he had possession of
the two items, he pushed the sales person to the floor and ran out of the
store. The total loss was $4,450.00.
Surveillance videotape caught the suspect’s image and is available to the
Media at the Media Relations Office located at 150 North Los Angeles Street,
room 626. The suspect identified himself as "Martell"" or "Mardell" Johnson.
He is described as a male Black, 5-9/ 5-11" tall, 170-180 lbs., 17-22 years
old, light complected and thin mustache.
