Residence Fire Leads to Homicide Investigation

Los Angeles: On Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at about 3:00 a.m, Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel responded to a structure fire at a residence located in the 800 block of West 42nd Street. The fire was extinguished and a dead body was found inside. Southwest Homicide Detectives responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. The investigation revealed that the victim was murdered prior to the location being set on fire.

The suspect’s identity and the motive for the murder are unknown at this time.

The victim has been identified as 22 year-old Trayana Davis of Los Angeles. The exact cause of death is pending Los Angeles County Coroner’s investigation.
