Los Angeles: In conjunction with "Communities in Schools" and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, the 3rd Annual Celebrity Baseball Swing-A-Thon will be held with all proceeds to benefit Los Angeles Youth Programs.

This unique community event is free and open to the public and will provide an opportunity for children from around the City to meet, interact, learn and play baseball with LAPD Officers, professional athletes, celebrities, and heroes from the American Armed Forces. It is anticipated that 3,000 children and community members will join together to raise funds and celebrate America’s favorite pastime, baseball.

Professional athletes and LAPD Officers will conduct sports clinics in the areas of baseball, football, golf, soccer and boxing. Former LA Dodger Baseball Player and current Coach Manny Mota will be presented with a lifetime achievement award during the opening ceremony.

Celebrities scheduled to play softball, teach the sports clinics and sign autographs are former and current LA Dodger Baseball Players, LA Raiders Football Players Willie Gault and Rod Martin and actors Yancy Arias, Shemar Moore, Tahj Mowry and many more.
