Ten Children Benefit from Officers Donating Blood

"Ten Children Benefit from Officers Donating Blood"

Los Angeles: In an effort to create a stronger bond between officers and members of the community, Officers from Metropolitan Division, Mounted Unit volunteered to participate in donating blood to City of Hope. In exchange for this donation they received vouchers for Theme Parks or movie tickets.

The officers selected to exchange the vouchers for Knott’s Berry Farm theme park tickets and donated the tickets to 9th Street Elementary School, located at 820 Town Avenue, Los Angeles. The school staff selected ten lucky children to join the officers on this trip to Knott’s Berry Farm.

On Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at about 8:30 a.m., the children along with the officers and school staff will be departing for Knotts Berry Farm.

This news advisory was prepared by Pubic Information Officer Sandra Escalante, Media Relations Section, at 213-485-3586.
