On October 20, 2003, Derrick Norwood was riding his motorcycle through the intersection of 46th Street and St. Andrews Place, when the suspect made an unsafe left turn and collided with Mr. Norwood. As a result of the collision, Mr. Norwood received severe injuries that left him paralyzed from the neck down. On February 26, 2004, Mr. Norwood died from his injuries.
