Arleta Man Found Murdered In His Home

Los Angeles: Foothill Area detectives are investigating the murder of a man found dead in his Arleta home.

On June 5, 2005, about 2:00 p.m., residents living in the 13400 block of Goleta Street became concerned for their neighbor's well-being after daily newspapers were left outside and the weekly trash cans were not taken out for pick up. Distressed neighbors then called police after finding their neighbor, 71-year-old George Meyer, dead in his home.

Officers arrived at Mr. Meyer's home and found him lying on the utility room floor. Evidence at the scene indicated that he died due to multiple blunt trauma injuries.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Foothill Area Homicide Detectives at 818-834-3115 or 818-756-8861. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk at (877)-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
