Detectives Arrest Two Students for Sexual Assault of Classmate

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department detectives arrested two 15-year-old Pacific Palisades High School students after they were implicated in a sexual assault of a 15-year-old female classmate.

The assault occurred on June 6, 2005, in a campus bathroom around 5:30 PM. School administrators became aware of the incident through an anonymous note left in the school office on June 9. School officials called police immediately.

Detectives interviewed the victim and confirmed the assault. The accused subjects were arrested on campus within two hours. Both subjects were detained at Sylmar Juvenile Hall, pending filing consideration by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for charges of rape and rape in concert.

The names of the subjects and the victim were not released due to age and confidentiality laws.

Anyone with further information concerning this incident can contact Detective Tavares, Operations-West Bureau Sexual Assault Detail, 213-473-0447. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk at 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
