Man Found Dead in Van Nuys

Los Angeles: A 23 year-old man was found shot to death in the early morning hours.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at about 4:00 AM, Van Nuys Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 15400 block of Cohasset Street. When the officers arrived, they found the victim, Francisco Gomez Vigil, a resident of the North Hills area, on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.

The suspect(s) and weapon remain outstanding.
