Los Angeles: LAPD detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect responsible for the death of an elderly woman in the Hollywood area.

On March 21, 2005 at about 3:00 p.m., Maria Louisa Hamilton, had just left her daily stop at Tang's Donuts in the area of Canyon Drive and Franklin Avenue, when a suspect grabbed her purse and knocked Ms. Hamilton to the ground. Ms. Hamilton sustained a hip and shoulder fracture that required hospitalization. On May 8, 2005 she died from complications stemming from the injuries sustained during the robbery.

Prior to her death, Ms. Hamilton described the suspect as a male Caucasian, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black leather jacket.

The Los Angeles City Council has offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to the identification and conviction of the persons(s) responsible for the murder of Ms. Maria Hamilton.
