Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Area Detectives are investigating an Assault with Deadly Weapon crime report, naming the actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, as the victim. After speaking initially with police June 17th, Mr. DiCaprio contacted detectives on June 20, 2005, at approximately 5:00 p.m., to make the crime report.

The incident occurred during the early morning hours of June 17, 2005, when Mr. DiCaprio was attending a party at the home of a friend in Hollywood Hills.

As a result of the assault, Mr. DiCaprio suffered a laceration to the left side of his neck, requiring several sutures.

The investigation is ongoing and no one is in custody at this time.
