Los Angeles: Police are asking for the public's help in capturing a gunman who shot and killed a man Saturday night in the mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles.

On June 10, 2006, shortly before midnight, Marcos Vasquez, 28, was standing outside a liquor store in the 5100 block of West Pico Boulevard, when he became involved in an altercation with another man. The suspect shot Vasquez several times, then ran to a waiting car in a nearby parking lot, and fled in an unknown direction. Vasquez also ran from the location, south on Meadowbrook Boulevard, before collapsing. He later died at a local hospital.

Authorities describe the suspect as a male Black, 5'6"-5'9" tall, 140-160 pounds, wearing a red shirt and dark pants. The vehicle was a dark 4-door sedan, unknown license plate. The weapon and suspect are still outstanding.
