Homicide at Karaoke Bar NR09272kr

Los Angeles: Two men were shot, and one died, after a dispute in a Korea Town Karaoke Bar.

On Sunday, June 7, 2009, at around 2:10 a.m., two men became involved in a dispute inside a Karaoke Bar in the 4000 block of West 6th Street.  As the two men walked outside of the bar, a suspect, described only as a Korean man, shot them before driving off in a black vehicle.

Michael Lee, a 36-year old Korean man from Anaheim Hills, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.   The other victim, a 37-year-old Korean man from Los Angeles, was listed in stable condition with a graze wound to the head.
Later in the evening, detectives were able to identify the shooter, 22-year-old Louis Lee, a resident of Rowland Heights.  Lee was arrested and booked for the murder of Michael Lee and is being held on $1 million dollar bail.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact Olympic Homicide Detectives Herman Frettlohr or George Lee at 213-382-9470.  During off-hours, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247).  Callers may also text “Crimes” with a cell phone or log on to www.lapdonline.org and click on web tips.  When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with “LAPD.”  Tipsters may remain anonymous.
