LAPD Anti-Bullying Youth Seminar

WHY:
LAPD’s Hollywood Division will be hosting a youth seminar to provide information to parents and youths about the problem of bullying and how it can be addressed and combated. Topics will include anti-Bullying tactics for school, church, sports, or other places where students and young people often encounter it, as well as Cyber bullying that occurs on cell phones and popular social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, and My Space.

Guest speakers will include Monica Harmon, an active community member and LAPD volunteer. In 2009 Monica Harmon was honored by Chief William Bratton as the “Volunteer of the Year.” Her son is a five year veteran of the Department.

There will be a time of Questions and Answers at the conclusion of the seminar.
