WHY:
On Saturday, June 9, 2012, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck and Los Angeles Fire Chief Brian Cummings will be tipping-off the 3rd Annual LAPD & LAFD Safe Summer Tip-Off Youth Festival and Basketball Event.  The event sponsored by USC and Motorola will be hosted by actor, comedian and recent winner of “Celebrity Apprentice” Mr. Arsenio Hall.

This FREE event is designed to bring the community, the LAPD and the LAFD together in a day of positive interactions with loads of fun things to do, see, and enjoy.

Featured at the event will be:
•    National Anthem performance by Kevin Eubanks
•    Half-time performance by Harlem Globetrotter Wun “The Shot” Versher
•    Anti-bullying presentation by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin
•    Complimentary BBQ lunch
•    Carnival games and prizes
•    Interactive displays of police and fire equipment and loads of other fun things for the entire family to enjoy
•    Free Raffle for 300 pairs of Converse Sneakers, Angry Birds Collectables, a variety of Summer Camp Scholarships, Bicycles and Sports Memorabilia signed by the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers.

Team Captains, Chief Beck and Chief Cummings to “Tip-off” the basketball game between LAPD Officers and LAFD Firefighters.
