Detectives Investigate a Murder in Venice NR12255cj

Los Angeles:  LAPD West Bureau Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help with providing any information that would lead to the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of a Venice resident.

On Monday, June 4, 2012 at around 10:30 p.m., Pacific Area officers responded to a shooting call in the 600 block of Santa Clara Avenue in Venice.  When officers arrived, they discovered the body of a man lying in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound.  Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and transported the man to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  The victim was identified as 23-year-old Oscar Duncan.

Detective’s initial investigation revealed an unidentified vehicle stopped in roadway near Duncan.  An occupant from within the car shot Duncan as he stood in the roadway. The suspect(s) immediately drove away from the scene afterwards. There is no suspect description and the investigation is ongoing.
