Hollenbeck Detectives are Investigating a Shooting Death NR123003df

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department Hollenbeck Homicide detectives are asking for the publics’ help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect responsible for the death of 24-year-old Joe David Lobos.

On Friday, June 29, 2012, around 12:51 a.m., Hollenbeck Patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting at Olympic Boulevard and Dacotah Street.  When officers arrived, they found Lobos in his vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced Lobos dead at the scene.

Detectives believe the victim was returning home from work and had stopped at an intersection near his home when an unknown suspect approached his vehicle.  The suspect, armed with a handgun, opened fire, striking Lobos multiple times.  The motive for the killing is unknown.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives Garcia or Marin at 323-342-8996 or 323-342-8961.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247).   Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to www.lapdonline.org, and click on "Anonymous Web Tips.”
