Counter Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau Capabilities Demonstration

Figueroa Street, between Fourth Street and Fifth Street

WHO:
Personnel from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Counter Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau

WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) will be providing a demonstration involving Multi-Assault Counter-Terrorism Action Capabilities (MACTAC) and the deployment of the Stabilization Team Los Angeles in response to a weapon of mass destruction devise.  This demonstration will include officer’s deploying from a helicopter and the utilization of blank ammunition.

Parking is limited and media is encouraged to park on the Fourth Street overpass.  This location will provide media with an advantageous view of the demonstration.  Los Angeles Police Department Public Information Officers will be present to assist will parking at 9:00 a.m., closing the far right lane to thru traffic during this exercise.  Media will not be allowed to stage their vehicles along certain portions of Fourth Street to allow for optimum camera space.

No parking along Fourth Street is permitted until LAPD personnel are present to facilitate this closure.  No media staging, parking, or cameras will be allowed around the Bonaventure Hotel.
