June 6, 2013

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Division Robbery detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect who robbed two locations in the Harbor area.

On May 25, 2013, around 7:35 p.m., a man described in his 20’s entered the Radio Shack located in the 500 block of S. Gaffey Avenue in San Pedro.  The suspect pretended to be shopping for two laptop computers and a computer bag.  He told employees that he was robbed of his laptops and was replacing them.  The suspect then reached into his waistband and brandished a semi-automatic handgun.  He demanded money and the laptops.  The suspect ordered the employees to sit on the floor and left the location on foot.

On May 26, around 6:10 p.m., a suspect described as a 25-30 year-old male Hispanic entered the Game Stop located in the 1600 block of W. Pacific Coast Highway in Harbor City.  He pretended to be shopping for merchandise for approximately 30 minutes.  The suspect told employees that he had a lot of things stolen from his car.  He then pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun from his pants pocket and pointed it at the employee.  The suspect demanded money and the merchandise.  He ordered the employees on the ground and left the location on foot.

There was video surveillance footage at both locations.  The same suspect is responsible for both robberies.  He is described as a male Hispanic, 25-30 years-old, between 5 feet and 8 inches to 5 feet and 11 inches, stocky build, and a goatee.  He was wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt, blue jeans, and red baseball cap with a “P” on the front.
