email Police Administrator Gloria Grube began her law enforcement career as a Police Dispatcher for the El Monte Police Department in 1978. She joined the LAPD in 1985 as a Police Service Representative and promoted through the leadership ranks, working administrative assignments at Newton, Northeast, and West Valley Divisions, Management Services Division, and Personnel Division. She also worked directly for Chief of Police William J. Bratton overseeing scheduling and special events activities.

Ms. Grube was promoted to Police Administrator in June 2005 and assigned as the Commanding Officer of Records and Identification Division, where she managed 290 employees providing critical records and information management systems and identification services and technologies.

In February 2007 Ms. Grube was promoted to Police Administrator II as the Assistant Commanding Officer at Information and Communications Services Bureau.  This Bureau was responsible for over 900 employees, managing the Department’s information technology systems, 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point and radio communications infrastructure.  With the Department’s Chief Information Officer, Ms. Grube oversaw four divisions - Records and Identification, Communications, Information Technology, and Emergency Command Control Communications Services.

In January 2010 Ms. Grube was reassigned as the commanding officer of Personnel Group which is comprised of Personnel Division, Recruitment and Employment Division, and the Administrative Support Unit. Ms. Grube also serves as the Department Reserve Coordinator.

Ms. Grube earned a Bachelor's Degree from California State University Los Angeles. She has completed Public Relations Professional Designation Certificate Program coursework at UCLA, as well as graduate classes in Public Administration at USC. She is a graduate of the West Point Leadership Development Program, the LAPD Command Development Program, and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce Leadership Southern California Network Program. Ms. Grube also graduated from the Senior Management Institute for Police, in Boston, sponsored by the Police Executive Research Forum.

Ms. Grube is a member of various professional law enforcement organizations including the Police Executive Research Forum, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Los Angeles Women Police Officers and Associates, and the Hispanic Law Enforcement Administrators.

Ms. Grube was awarded the Department’s Police Meritorious Unit Citation Award in 2004.  In 2006 Ms. Grube was selected as the first recipient of the Los Angeles Women Police Officers and Associates “Woman of the Year” Award for her leadership role and support of employee mentoring and career development. She is committed to public service and promoting professionalism in law enforcement.
