email Police Administrator Gloria Grube began her law enforcement career
as a Police Dispatcher for the El Monte Police Department. She
joined the LAPD in 1985 as a Police Service Representative and
worked her way up through administrative leadership positions, with
assignments at Public Affairs Section, Newton, Northeast, and West
Valley Divisions, Management Services Division, and Personnel
Division. She also worked directly for then Chief of Police William
J. Bratton.

Ms. Grube promoted to the command staff ranks as a Police
Administrator I in 2005 as the Commanding Officer of Records and
Identification Division. In 2007 Ms. Grube promoted to Police
Administrator II at Information and Communications Services Bureau
and she was later assigned as the first civilian Commanding Officer
of Personnel Group. In 2015 Chief Charlie Beck promoted Ms. Grube
to Police Administrator III, the highest ranking civilian
commander, as the Commanding Officer of Administrative Services
Bureau. As the Bureau Chief, she oversees human resources,
recruitment and employment, fleet management, records management,
facilities management, and 911 dispatch/communications
services.

Ms. Grube earned a Bachelor's Degree from California State
University Los Angeles. She has completed Public Relations
Professional Designation Certificate Program coursework at UCLA, as
well as graduate courses in Public Administration at USC. She is a
graduate of the West Point Leadership Development Program, the LAPD
Command Development Program, and the Los Angeles Chamber of
Commerce Leadership Southern California Network Program. Ms. Grube
also graduated from the Police Executive Research Forum's Senior
Management Institute for Police in Boston and from USC's Safe
Communities Institute Executive Leadership Program.

Ms. Grube is a member of various professional law enforcement
organizations including the Police Executive Research Forum, the
International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Los Angeles
Women Police Officers and Associates. Ms. Grube was awarded the
Department's Police Meritorious Unit Citation Award in 2004. Ms.
Grube was selected as the first recipient of the Los Angeles Women
Police Officers and Associates in 2006. She currently serves on the
Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Police Reserve Foundation. As
the LAPD's highest ranking Latina, Ms. Grube remains committed to
public service and promoting professionalism in law enforcement.
