Captain Eisenberg was born in Washington, DC. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colorado College. After moving to California and joining the Los Angeles Police Department, he received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. He is also a graduate of the FBI Academy and FBI/US Army Hazardous Devices School.
Captain Eisenberg was appointed to the Los Angeles Police Department in December 1990, and has worked a variety of patrol, investigative and specialized assignments. He was promoted to sergeant in March 1996, to lieutenant in October 2000, and captain in May 2007.
As an officer, his assignments included Northeast Area Patrol, Southeast Area Patrol, and Wilshire Area Homicide. As a sergeant, his assignments included Southeast Area Patrol and Gang Unit, Internal Affairs and DNC 2000 Planning Group. After promoting to lieutenant, he was a Watch Commander at both Valley Traffic Division and Wilshire Area Patrol.
Captain Eisenberg served as a Direct Commissioned Officer in the United States Navy Reserve, and was mobilized to active duty in 2002 to the Pacific Fleet Intelligence Directorate. Upon his return to the Los Angeles Police Department, he was selected as Officer in Charge of the Rampart Gang Impact Team. He then served as the Bomb Squad Commander and Officer in Charge of the Hazardous Devices/Materials Section.
As a Captain I, he served as Patrol Commanding Officer at both Pacific and Newton patrol divisions. His last assignment was Captain II, Assistant Commanding Officer, Gang and Narcotics Division.
He is currently assigned as the Commanding Officer, North Hollywood Area.
