POLICE ADMINISTRATOR D’ANNA MARKLEY – was born in San Fernando, California, and has been a member of the Los Angeles Police Department since April 1984. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, from California State University, Northridge, and is a graduate of the Department’s West Point Leadership Program and Command Development Program. Police Administrator Markley began her career with the Police Department as a Police Service Representative at Communications Division. After her promotion to the Management Analyst classification, she held a variety of challenging positions, including an administrative support position for Operations-Valley Bureau and the FALCON Narcotic Abatement Unit of Narcotics Division.
Records and Identification Division
At Training Division, she helped to create the Standards and Training for Corrections Unit as the Officer in Charge, for which she and her staff received the Chief of Police’s Meritorious Unit Citation. While assigned to Internal Affairs Group, she received a promotion to Senior Management Analyst I and was assigned as the Assistant Officer in Charge of the Advocate Section. After a tour of duty at Risk Management Group’s Discovery Section, where she was the Officer in Charge of the Letter Request and Pitchess Units, she was upgraded to a Senior Management Analyst II at Records and Identification Division as the Administrative Section’s Team Leader. She was ultimately appointed to the position of Police Administrator on January 21, 2007, and currently holds the position of Commanding Officer of Records and Identification Division. Police Administrator Markley and her husband Ted currently reside in Valencia.
