Robert E. Marino
Area Commanding Officer Captain-III Robert E. Marino was born in
Brooklyn, New York in 1967. He was raised and educated in New York
and Arizona. Captain Marino is married to Heidi and together they
have two sons.
Captain Marino began his career with the Los Angeles Police
Department in December 1989. His assignments as a police officer
included Pacific Area, West Los Angeles Area, and Harbor
Captain Marino was promoted to Sergeant in 1999. In addition to his
patrol duties as a field supervisor at Pacific Area, he was also
assigned as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Pacific Area Special
Problems Unit, the OIC of Wilshire Area Vice Unit, Assistant Watch
Commander at Transit Bus Division and Van Nuys Area.
Captain Marino was promoted to Lieutenant in 2007, and was assigned
to Foothill Area as a Watch Commander. His lieutenant experience
included assignment to Operations-Valley Bureau Violent Crime Task
Force as the OIC, Operations-Valley Bureau Vice Coordinator,
Adjutant to the Director of Office of Special Operations and a
Section OIC of Robbery-Homicide Division.
Captain Marino was promoted to the rank of Captain I in September
2013, and was assigned to Mission Area as the Patrol Commanding
Officer. In June of 2014, he was assigned to Devonshire Patrol
Division and in April 2015, he promoted to a Captain III as the
Area Commanding Officer, Devonshire Division.
As of February 2016, Captain Marino was assigned as the Mission
Area Commanding Officer. He is dedicated to enhancing public safety
and reducing the fear and the incidence of crime. Mission Area will
strive to improve the overall quality of life for the business
owners and residents of the City of Los Angeles.
