Captain III Michael Chambers is a native of Southern California born in Los Angeles in 1950. He graduated from Rowland High School in 1968 and subsequently received a Bachelors Degree from Whittier College and a Masters Degree from Pepperdine University.
Captain Chambers is a 31-year veteran of the Department starting his career in 1972, promoting to Sergeant in 1979, Lieutenant in 1988 and Captain in 1994. Captain Chambers is currently the Commanding Officer of Commercial Crimes Division. His previous commands include Organized Crime and Vice Division, West Los Angeles Area, Foothill Area, Management Services Division, Southwest Area, Detective Support Division and Wilshire and Hollywood Patrol Divisions.
Captain Chambers’ goal is to consistently improve the quality of life for community members and employees of this Department.
