Ronald Eutsey has over 28 years of law enforcement experience. He joined the Los Angeles Police Department on November 23, 1997 through the merger with MTA Police and holds the rank of Captain. During his law enforcement career he has been assigned a variety of duties from patrol officer, Internal Affairs investigator, Field Training Officer Coordinator, Department Training Coordinator and Commanding Officer, Human Resources Bureau. On July 1, 1998, Captain Eutsey was assigned as the Commanding Officer, Harbor Operations Support Division. On April 26, 1999, he was transferred to Southwest Area as the Commanding Officer, Southwest Operations Support Division. In May, 2003 Captain Eutsey was transferred to 77th Street Community Police Station Detectives as the Commanding Officer. In February 2004 he took over command of 77th Area Patrol Division. In April 2005 he was transferred to the Office of Operations as the Chief Duty Officer. Captain Eutsey is currently the Commanding Officer for West Los Angeles.

Prior to joining the Los Angeles Police Department he was a captain with the MTA Police for Approximately seven (7) years. During his tenure as captain he was the Bus Operation, Investigation, Rail Operation and Administration Bureau Commanders. As a Bureau Commander he was responsible for implementing and coordinating all transit police activities within the function of his Bureau.

He was the first MTA Police Captain to command a major substation as the Rail Operation Bureau Commander. He took over command of police services from the Los Angeles County Sheriff for the Blue Line Light Rail System from Long Beach to Los Angeles. He successfully opened and commanded the police services for the Green Line Light Rail System form the City of Norwalk to the City of Redondo Beach. The Metro Rail Red Line Subway System was also under his command.

Captain Eutsey holds the following degrees: Bachelors of Science in Public Administration, California State University, Dominguez Hills, Associate Arts in Supervision/Business, Los Angeles Trade Technical College, Los Angeles. He has a Life Time Community College Instructors Teaching Credential.
