The 40th Annual Los Angeles Police-Celebrity Golf Tournament
The Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation held its 40TH Police-Celebrity Golf Tournament on July 16TH, at the beautiful Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes. This annual event raises money to provide financial assistance to the "LAPD family " in their time of acute need, including death, illness and injury. To date, over $13 Million has been granted for this purpose.
This year's Celebrity Host was NBA legend, Jerry West. The Tournament is very special in that it is supporting the men and women of the LAPD and their families. It is a family fun day, mingling with family and friends, celebrities and corporate sponsors, all for a most worthy cause. We know that times are difficlut for many business organizations and individuals, and that is why we owe a special thanks to all who participated and helped raise over $400,000.
The Memorial Foundation annually provides more than $800,000 to police department employees and their immediate families experiencing catastrophic circumstances including death, illness and injury.The Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation is a nonprofit tax-exempt organization. Like the Tournament, the Memorial Foundation has no equal in law enforcement.
Attractions: In addition to the Tournament, there are many Police Department displays, such as helicopters, the bomb squad, the mobile museum, and LAPD horses. There is also great food and drink throughout the park.
Attendance: Approximately 5,000 to 8,000. Attendees include golf enthusiasts, celebrity watchers, and those looking for a family day in the park. A large number of children attend the event with their parents.
Beneficiary: All proceeds benefit the Los Angeles Memorial Foundation, which financially assists LAPD family members experiencing catastrophic circumstances resulting from injury or death. Since it's inception in 1972, the Foundation has granted more than $11.8 million for medical, funeral and educational expenses.
