Victim Shot and Killed During Arguement

Thursday, March 11, 1999


On Tuesday evening, March 9, 1999, at approximately 6:15 PM, the victim, Chandler Jay Whitlow, 43 years old, was standing in the rear of 3300 Block of West Florence Avenue, Los Angeles. Whitlow was involved in an argument with unknown suspect(s), which escalated into a shooting incident. During the shooting Whitlow sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.

The motive is unknown. The suspect(s) and weapon remain outstanding.

South Bureau Homicide Detectives are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information concerning this incident is requested to call South Bureau Homicide at 213-237-1310.
