Detectives Search for Home Invasion Robbery Suspect

Thursday, March 11, 1999


On Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at approximately 12:00 p.m., a female Hispanic was outside her residence at the 100 Block of East 118th Place, taking out the trash. As she was approaching her front door, she observed a male Black suspect standing in the doorway holding a handgun.

The suspect forced his way into the residence at gunpoint and held several residents before fleeing out a rear window with an undisclosed amount of cash. The female victim was slightly injured when the suspect pulled her by the hair. She was treated as scene and released by LAFD paramedics. No other occupants in the residence were injured as a result.

The suspect is described as a male Black, 6'0" tall, 165 pounds, 18 to 22 years old, wearing a black jacket, black pants, white T-shirt, and a black beanie. The victim described the suspect as clean cut and well dressed. He was armed with a chrome semi-automatic handgun. Additionally, the suspect spoke Spanish.
