27 Year Old Female Found Dead From Gunshot Wounds

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Monday, March 22, 1999

On Sunday, March 21, 1999, at approximately 1:30 P.M., Southwest Patrol Officers responded to the alley rear of the 3000 block of South Genesee Avenue for a death investigation. Upon their arrival, they met Los Angeles Fire Department personnel who had also responded. The officers were advised that the victim, Camille Yvonne Petit, a female Black, 27 years old, had been pronounced dead from gunshot wounds at 1:25 P.M.

The motive is unknown.

South Bureau Homicide Detectives are handling the investigation. Anyone with information concerning this incident is requested to call South Bureau Homicide at 213- 237-1310.
