Armored Car Robbery Suspects Sought

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, March 29, 2000

Los Angeles - On Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at approximately 4:10 p.m., a courier for Armored Transport, Inc. completed a pick up at the U.S.C. Federal Credit Union. As the courier exited and headed back towards the armored vehicle, he was approached by two male African-American suspects. One blocked the courier's path while the other approached from behind and pointed a semi automatic handgun to the courier's head. The suspects robbed the courier of a tote bag which contained U.S. currency and checks. Both suspects then fled the location on foot. Armored Transport, Inc. is offering a $20,000.00 reward for information leading to the recovery of property, identification, arrest, and conviction of those responsible for this robbery.

A videotape of the suspects involved (possibly four) in the robbery is available at the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Section.

Robbery-Homicide Division is seeking assistance from the public and will accept anonymous information. Anyone with information should contact Detective Mike Mejia at 213-485-0780.
