."Four Year Old Boy Dies in Fatal Dirt Bike Accident"

Harbor - On Thursday, March 30, 2000 at 4:30 p.m., Harbor Area patrol officers responded to a fatal traffic accident, in an open lot on private property located at 182nd Street East of Vermont Avenue.

A male, hispanic, 13 years of age, was driving an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) in an open dirt lot, along with his 4 year old cousin, a male, hispanic. The four year old, boy was the front passenger of the ATV at the time of the accident. The driver went up a hill when the ATV flipped over backwards, throwing the driver off the vehicle and falling on top of the 4 year old passenger. The passenger was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from a major blunt force trauma to his head.
