Officers Supply Food For Theft Victims

"Officers Supply Food for Theft Victims"

Los Angeles - On Thursday, March 22, 2001, at approximately 7:00 p.m., 77th Street Area Desk Officer E. Williams, took a telephonic report of a Theft that occurred in the 600 block of 55th Street. The suspect, who has not been identified was visiting the victim and took her money. The suspect took approximately $1050 from the victim’s residence.

While the officer was taking the victim’s report, the victim stated that the stolen money was all she had in her residence. The victim was taking care of her grandson at the time and stated that her grandson was hungry. Once the report was signed and processed, Officer Williams, along with other officers, had taken up a station fund to purchase food for the victim and her grandson.

Officers Chavez and Corso delivered the food to the victim’s residence, who was overwhelmed. The victim was highly appreciative of the officers efforts. Thanks to 77th Street Community Police Officers Williams, Chavez, and Corso, the victim and her grandson were able to eat.
