Los Angeles: 77th Street Detectives will be conducting a press conference to seek the public’s assistance in locating a juvenile gang member who escaped from Sylmar Juvenile Hall on March 10, 2002.
In January of 2002, the subject was tried as an adult and convicted on three counts of attempted murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He was scheduled to be sentenced on March 12, 2002.
On March 10, 2002, at approximately 1:55 a.m., the subject escaped from custody at Sylmar Juvenile Hall. The crimes for which he was convicted occurred in April 2001, in the area of 81st Street and Denker Avenue in South Los Angeles.
The subject is currently at large and is a known gang member. He is to be considered armed and dangerous. His name is Kenneth Ruben Gilliam, DOB 5-29-84, and a picture will be available at the press conference.
