Street Closures During Academy Awards

What:
74th Annual Academy Awards

When:
Sunday March 24, 2002

Where:
Kodak Theater
Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue

Los Angeles: In conjunction with the Academy Awards and to ensure for the safety and security of the community and all guests, the following street closures will be in effect on March 24, 2002. There will be no stopping/parking at any of the following locations, during the affected period. Vehicles in violation of this advisory will be towed away. NO EXCEPTIONS!

In an effort to assist members of the community in their pre-planning efforts, the Department is publicizing the following street closures in and around the area of the Kodak Theater.

Tow-Away No Stopping Anytime, Sunday, March 24, 2002, 8:00 a.m. to Midnight:

  • Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard, both sides.
  • Hollywood Boulevard between Cahuenga Boulevard and Vine Street, north side.
  • Highland Avenue between Franklin Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, both sides.
  • Hawthorn Avenue between La Brea Avenue and Highland Avenue, both sides.
  • Orange Avenue between Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, both sides.
  • Yucca Street between Highland Avenue and Las Palmas Avenue, both sides
  • McCadden Place between Yucca Street and Hollywood Boulevard, both sides.
  • Wilcox Avenue between 101 Freeway Off-Ramp and Hollywood Boulevard, west side.
  • Wilcox Avenue between Cahuenga Boulevard and Franklin Avenue, east side.
  • Wilcox Avenue between Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, east side.
  • Sunset Boulevard between Detroit Street and Vine Street, both sides.
  • Outpost Drive between Franklin Avenue and La Presa Drive, both sides.
  • Outpost Circle between Outpost Drive and Hillside Avenue, both sides.
  • El Cerritos Place between Outpost Drive and Hillside Avenue, both sides.

Tow-Away No Stopping Anytime, Sunday, March 24, 2002, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.:

  • Franklin Avenue between La Brea Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard, both sides
  • Cahuenga Boulevard between 101 Freeway Off-Ramp and Hollywood Boulevard, west side.
  • Cahuenga Boulevard between Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, both sides
  • Vine Street between 101 Southbound Freeway Off-Ramp and Sunset Boulevard, west side.
  • Vine Street between Homewood Avenue and Fountain Avenue, west side.
  • Vine Street between Lexington Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, west side
  • La Brea Avenue between Franklin Avenue and De Longpre Avenue, both side
  • La Brea Avenue between Lexington Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, both side
  • Highland Avenue between Sunset Avenue and Santa Monica boulevard, both side
  • Fountain Avenue between Highland Avenue and Vine Street, north side
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between La Brea Avenue and Mansfield Avenue, south side
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between Mansfield Avenue and McCadden Place, both side
  • Santa Monica boulevard between McCadden Place and Vine Street, north side
