Gang Related Shooting Death Investigation

 

Los Angeles: Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives are investigating the gang related shooting death of a Hispanic man, approximately 20 years of age.

On Sunday, March 7, 2004, at about 11:20 p.m., the victim was driving his vehicle on Valley Boulevard near Marianna Avenue when unknown suspects in a black Ford Mustang pulled up alongside his car and fired several rounds from an unknown type handgun. The suspects then drove off in an unknown direction. The victim continued to drive his vehicle to the 5000 block of Cavanaugh Road where he collapsed behind the steering wheel. The victim was shot once in the abdomen.

Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance responded to the crime scene and took the victim to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center where he died on March 8, 2004.
