Gang Related Shooting Kills One, Another Left Critical

Los Angeles- On Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at about 10:00 p.m., patrol officers from Hollywood Division responded to a radio call of shots fired in the area of Western Avenue and Virginia Avenue. Upon the officers’ arrival, they saw victims who were shot. Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics transported both victims to Cedars Sinai Hospital.
Jose Luis Mora, a 22 year-old resident of Los Angeles died at the hospital. The second victim is listed in critical but stable condition at this time. His identity is being withheld pending the notification to the family.
The suspects are described as three males, possibly Hispanic, 20-30 years-of-age. The motive appears to be robbery and gang-related.
