Canoga Park Teens Targeted

Los Angeles: On Saturday, March 12, 2005, at 11:20 p.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's West Valley Division responded to an "ambulance shooting" radio call at the 7200 block of Millwood Avenue in Canoga Park.

When the officers arrived to the location they were met by four young males who said that as they were walking home, a red car, described as a possible late model Ford Focus, drove up next to them, yelled out the window, then fired several shots at the group. The suspects then drove away on Wyandotte Street then turned south on Millwood Avenue.

Two of the four pedestrians were shot by the suspects and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. One of the victims, a male just, 17-years-old, received a single gunshot wound to the upper body and died shortly after arriving to the hospital. The second victim, a 16-year-old young man, sustained four gunshot wounds to the upper body and legs and is in critical but stable condition.

Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to call the West Valley Homicide Unit at 818-342-0449. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
