The Los Angeles Police Department West Valley Division sponsors a volunteer Group called the West Valley Hate Crime Alliance. Alliance members donate time and talent to speak to citizen and church groups about hate crimes.

This year the Alliance sponsored an art project in three elementary schools. Fourth graders were asked to draw pictures depicting what they learned in school about treating others with respect. The winning picture was selected to appear on a billboard donated by Clear Channel and will be displayed for four weeks.
