Police Seek Sexual Predator

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying a possible serial sexual predator who has been assaulting women in the Van Nuys area.

On Sunday, June 10, 2007, just before 1:00 AM, a woman in her mid 20s had parked her car in a subterranean parking lot and was walking toward the elevator leading to her apartment. The suspect grabbed the woman and sexually assaulted her and ran away.

There have been two other similar incidents that have occurred in the Van Nuys area. One occurred on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at about 8:50 PM, in the 6600 block of Sylmar Avenue. The second one also occurred on June 20, at about 9:15 PM in the 6800 block of Bevis Avenue.

The suspect has primarily approached the victims on the street or as they are walking up to their homes.

The victims are generally described as women in their 20s to 40s.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, 20 to 30 years of age, with long brown hair worn as a ponytail. He has brown eyes and stands 5’ 2” to 5’ 4”, weighing about 130 to 150 pounds.

The victim from the June 10 occurrence completed a composite drawing. At least one of other victims has also identified the suspect through the same composite drawing.
