Fatal Hit and Run Collision in West Los Angeles NR11123cj

Los Angeles: LAPD West Traffic Detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information about a hit and run driver that killed a motorcyclist in West Los Angeles.    

On March 19, 2011, at around 3:05 p.m., LAPD West Traffic Division officers responded to a traffic collision call at Jefferson Boulevard and Mesmer Avenue. When the officers arrived at the scene, they saw a man on the ground unresponsive, near a fallen motorcycle.   LAFD rescue personnel responded and transported the man to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The man was later identified as Robert Antonio Guerra.  

The detective’s investigation revealed that a driver traveling westbound on Jefferson Boulevard in a 2007 BMW struck Guerra while turning southbound on Mesmer Avenue.  Guerra was riding his 2007 R1 motorcycle during the collision.  The driver failed to stop and render aid or identify himself.
