Hit and Run Suspect Taken into Custody NR12111kr

Los Angeles:   The hit and run suspect who hit and caused serious injuries to a 51-year-old woman walking along a sidewalk Sunday evening has been arrested.

On March, 4, 2012, at around 7:50 p.m., a driver, (later identified as 21-year-old Jose Miguel Gaeta of Huntington Park), hit a pedestrian walking on Central Avenue between 52nd Street and 53rd Street.  The victim was a 51-year-old woman from Los Angeles who sustained serious injuries from the collision, including multiple fractures.

Gaeta was driving a 2003 grey Toyota-Tundra with tinted windows.  He failed to stop and render aid to the victim and identify himself as required by law.

On March 6, 2012, at around 5:15 p.m., Gaeta was taken into custody in the 7000 block of Miles Street in Huntington Park.  He was booked for Felony Hit and Run and is being held on $50,000 bail.
