Why:
Prostitution along the 7600-9000 blocks of Lankershim Boulevard in Foothill Area has created a blight that has negatively impacted the citizens and business owners alike.  The news conference will detail how the “Lankershim Boulevard Prostitution Reduction Operations Plan” will act as the blueprint in the eradication of the prostitution problem along the Lankershim Boulevard corridor.  On March 7th 2012, Foothill Area conducted a 20-hour prostitution task force that included several departmental resources which yielded 34 prostitution related arrests.  That was just one of the many components included within the operations plan created to deal with the prostitution problem.  Direct enforcement will continue until prostitution is eliminated on Lankershim Boulevard.
