Detectives are Investigating a Suspicious Murder NR13092cn

Los Angeles: LAPD West Bureau Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information on the murder of 62-year-old Cornelius Rich.

On Tuesday, March 19, 2013, around 10:10 a.m., LAPD Olympic Area Patrol officers responded to an apartment building in the 500 block of S. Kingsley Drive, to conduct a welfare check of a building resident.  When the officers made entry into the apartment they found the body of Cornelius Rich inside.  Los Angeles Fire Department rescue personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead.

Los Angeles County Coroner investigators as well as West Bureau Homicide detectives responded to the scene.  The Coroner investigators ruled the case an “Undetermined Death” pending the results of an autopsy.

On March 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., an autopsy was conducted.  The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.  The motive for the killing is unknown at this time. Rich is described as a 62-year-old male black.  He also goes by the name of Andre Dupree.
