Female Victim Found Dead on Construction Site

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, May 19, 1999

Central Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the homicide of a female Black, approximately 35 years of age.

On Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at approximately 6:50 a.m., the victim's body was discovered in a construction site located at the Southwest corner of 8th Street and Wall Street. Arriving employees who were scheduled to work at the site discovered the victim. The location is in the early stages of construction. The sight was closed and the gates were locked at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 17. It is unknown at this time how the victim and her assailant(s) entered the location.

The victim had blunt force trauma to her head and her identity is not known at this time. It is unknown if the victim lived in the area or was a transient.

The suspect(s) in this case have not been identified and there is no additional information at this time.
