Pacific Area Detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred on May 24, 1999, at 1440 hours, at 3649 S. Military Avenue. Suspect and Victim were involved in a domestic dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. The victim, Marta Jasik, 70 years of age, was arguing with her husband, Leslie Jasik, 73 years of age. An altercation ensued and the suspect struck victim knocking her to the floor.Victim died at the scene as a result of traumatic injuries to her head. Suspect arrested at scene and booked a Pacific Area Jail for 187 P.C.
Detectives J. Lumbreras and T. Marshall, Pacific Homicide, were assigned the investigation.
