Los Angeles: On May 10, 2002 at approximately
10:00 p.m., Rampart Patrol Officers responded to an "ADW Shots
Fired" radio call at 4050 Marathon Avenue. Upon arrival officers
observed the victim down at the rear of the location, suffering from gunshot
wounds to his upper torso. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics arrived
and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that a possible suspect was seen
walking westbound on Melrose Avenue from Alexandria. Moment's later
approximately four gunshots were heard and the same individual was seen
running eastbound on Melrose Avenue towards Alexandria Avenue. The possible
suspect was described as a male Hispanic, approximately 25 to30 years of
age, medium build, wearing gloves, beige sweater and black pants, carrying a
blue or black backpack.
The victim is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 29
years of age. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending
notification of his next of kin.
No arrests have been made in connection with this homicide.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
