Homicide Investigation

Los Angeles: On Friday, May 17, 2002, at 2:13 a.m., Devonshire Area officers responded to a citizen generated 911 call regarding shots fired in the area of the 15200 block of Gresham Street in North Hills. The officers searched the area and located a critically wounded gunshot victim lying in the alley between Columbus Avenue and Memory Park. A Los Angeles City Fire Department rescue ambulance responded and transported the victim for further treatment. While enroute to Holy Cross Hospital, the victim succumbed to multiple upper-body gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 2:40 a.m.

Devonshire Area Homicide investigators assumed responsibility for the case. Preliminary information suggested the victim may have been selling narcotics at the time of his demise. He has been identified as Adalberto Moreno, a 33-year old resident of North Hills. The detectives are in the process of attempting to locate and interview witnesses in order to ascertain the physical description of the possible suspect(s).

Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation is urged to contact detectives at 818-756-8291. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk, 1-877-LAWFULL.
