National Police Week Memorial Ceremony

 

What:
National Police Week Memorial Ceremony

When:
Thursday, May 19, 2005, at 10:00 a.m.

Where:
Los Angeles Police Department's Parker Center Memorial Monument
150 North Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles.

Who:
Mayor James Hahn, Elected Officials, Los Angeles Police Chief William J. Bratton, LAPD Command Staff, Department Employees and Families of Fallen Officers.

Why:
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) will commemorate National Police Week with a memorial ceremony. Officers from all ranks will present arms to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Officers killed in the line of duty and their families will be memorialized during the ceremony.

Formal ceremonies will include an invocation by police chaplain Rabbi Chaim Koldny, the "Walk of Heroes" procession, twenty-one gun salutes and a helicopter fly-over in the missing man formation.

The media and public are welcomed to join in recognizing those who strive to protect and serve our communities.
